Builders and general contractors can verify existing conditions, reduce change orders, and document every phase of construction with accurate, real-world data by 3D LiDAR-scanning their job sites.
Inaccurate measurements and missing information lead to delays, rework, and costly change orders. Our LiDAR scanning services give builders and general contractors precise, up-to-date site data, allowing them to coordinate trades, verify conditions, and keep projects moving forward with confidence.
Let’s talk about your project scope, timeline, and how scanning can support your construction workflow.

Before demolition or construction begins, we capture a complete and accurate record of the site. This allows your team to plan with confidence, avoid surprises, and ensure that all trades are working from the same reliable information.
By scanning before drywall installation, we create a permanent digital record of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. When future work is needed, systems can be located instantly, all without unnecessary demolition, guesswork, or delays.
From initial site conditions to final as-built documentation, our scanning services provide a complete visual and spatial record of your project. This can be used for coordination, verification, and long-term reference.
LiDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) is used to capture the measurements of a physical space, such as stationary objects, structures, and landscapes.
LiDAR is used in projects such as:
In just seconds, our 3D laser scanner can measure millions of points in three dimensions, giving it a cloud of single-point measurements, also known as a point cloud.
BENEFITS OF A 3D SCAN

Our deliverables integrate directly into Revit and other BIM platforms, allowing your team to design, coordinate, and document with confidence using accurate existing conditions.
Incorporate Your Building Information Modelling (BIM) Process
If you work in construction, architecture, or engineering, we can help you streamline documentation, 3D-scan as-builts, and collaborate with vendors and partners. We save you TIME, which also saves you MONEY.
Export Your Point Cloud
Easily capture, share, and render your point cloud data within Revit and other BIM tools.
Generate OBJ Files
Document your construction process through OBJ and point clouds for as-builts.
Quickly Scan Tight Areas
A 3D scan allows accurate measurements to be taken in hard-to-reach areas such as trusses, pipes, and beams.
Share your space with contractors and vendors
Allow third parties to view, measure, and comment on a digital twin of the 3D space, saving on travel and personnel costs.

A local builder offers a valuable option to his customers. Prior to the installation of drywall, the builder has HPS Media 3D-scan new construction prior to the installation of drywall. The scanning process takes about one hour for a typical 2,000 sq ft home. The final 3D model is then shared with the new homeowner, who can then share it remotely with future contractors and designers, if needed. (see below for an example)
By referencing this 3D model, contractors who work on future repairs, renovations, and enhancements can complete their work with minimal intrusion into the finished walls, floors, and ceilings. Contractors will not have to break open numerous openings in the walls to find pipes, wires, conduit, and ductwork, thus saving the homeowner time, money, and headaches.

By scanning before drywall installation, we create a permanent digital record of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Future contractors can locate systems instantly without unnecessary demolition, saving time, money, and frustration.

There are several benefits to using LiDAR scanning services. Hand measuring is the traditional methodology that dominated the field, just due to lack of technology. The process can be very laborious and calculation errors are common. Also, multiple site visits are required to get dimensions, extending the process. But, let’s just list a few benefits of LiDAR scanning:
LiDAR Scan-to-BIM services are extremely precise and provide the correct measurements the first time. Scanning is highly accurate as it builds the point cloud environment using laser beams to capture measurements and colors.
Because LiDAR scanning is incredibly accurate, discrepancies are found quickly and early on. LiDAR helps save costs through remote monitoring and inspection, project planning, enhanced administrative strategies, and tracking of different stages of a project. This reduces unnecessary trips to a project site, which ultimately reduce costs.
When an accurate 3D model is delivered, the need to visit the site is removed, thus reducing unecessary expenses. Design and building professionals are then enabled to spend precious time on projects, rather than on the road between job sites.
When a site is scanned, the entire project team can use a singular model right from the start. This reduces mistakes by enabling all parties to use the same information.
